BHSU to host Halloween lecture

Sasha Pursley, assistant professor of history and social science, will present a lecture entitled "The Real Story of Halloween: the History of a Holiday," Thursday, October 28 at 12:30 p.m. in Meier Hall 306, as part of the Honors Program Lecture Series.

Pursley’s presentation will trace the history of Halloween, from its Irish pagan roots to later Christian attempts to “co-opt” the holiday with All Souls Day and All Saints Day, to the secularized version of modern day Halloween, as it is celebrated in the United States.

This event is sponsored by the BHSU Honors Program.
