The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity at Black Hills State University will be hosting a seminar on government contracting on Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m. in the David B. Miller Student Union Presidents Conference Room.
This seminar will provide information that can help small businesses position their company for contracting opportunities. It will help small business owners understand the basics of selling to the government, how to get started, pursue opportunities, and obtain resources that will give knowledge and skills to help begin the process of doing business with the government.
Topics covered will be: Understanding the Basics of Federal Contracting; Selling to the Government, an Overview of the Process; and an Experienced Contractor Presentation.

Located in Woodburn Hall on the BHSU campus in Spearfish, the SD CEO was established to provide management and business assistance, training, and counseling for entrepreneurs. It is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA, and is part of a network of more than 110 centers nationwide established through the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. While services are available to all those interested in entrepreneurship, there is a special emphasis on women, women veterans, Native Americans, socially and/or economically disadvantaged, and youth entrepreneurs.
