The Black Hills State University forensics squad emerged state champions at the South Dakota Intercollegiate Forensics Association meet held this semester.
Charles Follette, BHSU debate coach, was pleased with his team's performance. BHSU students swept the top three places and tied for fourth. Cara Bandalos, sophomore English major from Guernsey, Wyo.; and Karen Morehouse, sophomore English major from Ft. Meade, went undefeated to place first. Jim Stith, sophomore history major from Newcastle, Wyo.; and Krystal Brunner, freshmen pre-law major from Nisland, came in second. Third place went to Dallas Olson, senior speech communications major from Bowdle, and Paul Eisenbraun, senior speech communications major from Gordon, Neb. Taylor Hilton, sophomore speech communications major from Rapid City and Clayton Grueb, sophomore pre-law major from Spearfish tied with another team for fourth place.
