SD CEO celebrates women in business

Elaine Doll-Dunn, writer, marathon runner and educator from Spearfish, inspired the attendees at the first Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon hosted at Black Hills State University by the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) with her keynote address. More than 100 people gathered to celebrate the successes and achievements of women in business. Linda Raabe, president and CEO of the Rapid City Area Chamber, also presented a humorous and very intentional message on “Creating Credibility in Today’s Business World.”

Helen Merriman, director of the SD CEO at BHSU, says the event was a successful in bringing together business people from throughout the region to celebrate working women and contributions they make. The gathering was also an opportunity for attendees to network with other business people to gain valuable insight into the world of entrepreneurship and learn more about SD CEO services. Businesses from the region hosted exhibit booths to provide additional information about their products and services.

Merriman notes that the SD CEO is planning a full day conference on Oct. 28. For details about SD CEO see www.BHSU.edu/SDCEO or call 642-6311.
