Alumni Association names president and appoints new members

Hugh Palmer, Black Hills State University Class of 1969, was recently named president of the BHSU Alumni Association board of directors. Palmer, from Sundance, Wyo., will serve a two-year term as president of the board.

As president, Palmer will lead the BHSU Alumni Association in recognizing alumni and friends of the university for their service, contributions and accomplishments.

Two Spearfish residents were also named to the board of directors. Julie Benedict, Class of 1995, and Jill Sutter, Class of 2001, will each serve a four-year term on the board.

Currently 23 members serve on the BHSU Alumni Association board of directors. The members serve as social catalysts, bringing alumni, faculty, students and administration together in support of the university and its mission. The board meets several times a year to focus on promoting the university.
