Scholarships honor longtime BHSU music professor who recently passed away

Donations are currently being accepted for two scholarship programs (the Merlyn and Shirley Aman Music Scholarship and the general athletic scholarship fund) created to honor former BHSU music professor Merlyn Aman, who passed away recently.

Aman, who taught music at BHSU for years spent his lifetime encouraging and supporting students of all ages and was known for his positive attitude and kindness. Though his professional career and its ensuing awards and recognition did not define the man that Merlyn was, they spoke volumes about his commitment to excellence and the level of importance that music, teaching and helping other played in his life.

Contact Steve Meeker, vice president of University Advancement, at 605-642-6385 or for more information about the scholarships.
