The Black Hills State University First Friday: Breakfast with the Arts this week will feature performances by several of vocal majors who are preparing for a state competition.
BHSU has eight voice students who are competing in the state collegiate voice competition sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing, held in Vermillion this year. Each of those students will each perform a short song at the First Friday performance: Tyler Raad from Spearfish, Sean Sutton from Sioux Falls, Katie McDougall from Gillette, Wyo., Melinda Christiansen from Pierre, Jamie Williams from Gillette, Wyo., Tara Warren from Burke, Kim Ulmen from Kadoka, and Sam Golden from Bismarck, N.D.
The First Friday event will be held March 5 at 9:30 a.m. in Clare & Josef Meier Hall, Room 128. The performance is free and open to the public. Free coffee and muffins will be provided.
