BHSU will soon have more automated external defibrillators on campus

Black Hills State University now has 12 more automated external defibrillators (AED) on campus.

Every building on campus will be equipped with an AED, including residence halls. Continuous efforts are also being made to ensure faculty, staff, and students know how to use the equipment.

The future goal, notes Sullivan, is to have multiple units in buildings that see higher amounts of traffic, like the Student Union and Jonas.

“As part of BHSU’s aggressive, proactive approach to safety, the additional AEDs are a good asset for our campus,” says Myron Sullivan, director of Public Safety & Parking.
