BHSU will host guest faculty recital

Black Hills State University will host baritone Dr. Robert Jones, who will perform a guest faculty voice recital titled “Death, Roses and Don Quixote,” on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall. Jones will be accompanied on piano by Andrew Froehlich.

Jones, an associate professor of voice at North Dakota State University, has appeared as soloist with varied ensembles in the United States, Canada and Bolivia, including the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir and Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Nebraska Chamber Orchestra and the Bolivian Chamber Music Society. He also has appeared in leading and supporting roles with the Des Moines Metro Opera Company, Opera Oklahoma and the Fargo Moorhead Opera. Among the leading roles performed with FM Opera include Bartolo in “Barber of Seville,” the title role in “Gianni Schicchi” and the title role and Pooh Bah in “The Mikado.”

The recital is free of charge and open to the public.
