Black Hills State University students are now available to assist local business through a new temporary help program “Jackets on the Job” established by the Center for Business, Entrepreneurship & Tourism (CBET) at BHSU and managed by a work study student.
Businesses are encouraged to contact Jackets on the Job if they have a need for temporary help.
“Now for your temporary help, you can call Jackets on the Job, a new student-based service,” says Barb Zwetzig, director of CBET. “It’s a great opportunity for our students to meet the business community and for the business community to benefit from our skilled and enthusiastic student work force.”
Appropriate workers will be selected from the pool of BHSU students. Zwetzig notes that during the fall semester, the trial start-up period, there are no membership or service fees.
Job requests should be placed during weekday hours of 8 a.m. Monday morning through noon on Friday. Requests for weekend work hours should be placed as early in advance as possible.
More than 40 BHSU students have already applied to participate in this new program and are ready to offer temporary assistance for local businesses. Students are available to help in the following areas: bookkeeping or data entry, gardening, yard clean up, tutoring, servers for events, office help, delivery or errands, inventory management, sales help, computer work, and others.
