Black Hills State University students are transforming lives and making headlines with their achievements.
Kristin M. Engle, Black Hills State University senior physical education and wellness management major, received the Outstanding Major of the Year Award, by the National American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance award (AAHPERD).
Engle was nominated for this award by Dr. Betsy Silva, associate education professor and chair of the division of Physical Education and Health at BHSU. The Outstanding Major of the Year Award is given to a current National Association for Sport & Physical Education (NASPE) junior or senior status member. The student should be working towards a degree in physical education, kinesiology, sport management, exercise science, fitness/wellness, athletic training, or other closely related major. A minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) is required and the student must have a minimum of two years of service to the school or community during their undergraduate career. Engle will be recognized at the AAHPERD National Convention.
