Babbitt photography exhibition announced

Steve Babbitt, photography professor at Black Hills State University, currently has a exhibition titled, “Recent Photographs and Explorations,” at the Apex Gallery, located on the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology campus.
An artist’s reception is scheduled for Friday, April 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. The show continues through April 24.

According to Deborah Mitchell, director of the Apex Gallery, this exhibition of photographs showcases the wide range subject matter and approaches to photography that Steve Babbitt so elegantly navigates.

“As professor in the mass communication department at Black Hills State University he practices the same attention to detail and rigorous craftsmanship which he expects from his students. Babbitt received both his BFA, and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Since arriving at BHSU he has tirelessly worked to strengthen the program and has built a regional and national reputation with the quality of his own work,” Mitchell says.

The Apex Gallery, in Classroom Building 211, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
