BHSU to host small business workshop

Black Hills State University and the Spearfish Chamber of Commerce will host the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant Opportunities Workshop Thursday, April 23 at 3 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center, room 213.

The workshop will be presented by Gary Archamboult, South Dakota SBIR program manager, and will provide an understanding of the kinds of projects fundable under the SBIR program. The SBIR funds the development of innovative new products and processes for small businesses. Eleven federal agencies participate in the program and anticipate awarding over $2.5 billion in grants to small businesses in 2009.

The workshop is sponsored by the BHSU Center for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (CBET), the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, South Dakota Small Business Development Centers, and the University of South Dakota.
