Black Hills State University will host career fair Feb. 11

Black Hills State University will host the 2009 Spring Career Fair Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center.

The career fair is held every spring to give students and alumni the opportunity to meet with a variety of businesses and schools as they make career and educational plans. Nearly 50 employers, government agencies, and graduate schools from across the nation will conduct interviews, information sessions, and presentations at the fair.

“The list of participating employers is growing rapidly. We are particularly pleased to have Kraft Foods, Lynns, Inc., and Cabela’s joining us for the first time,” Arlene Holmes, director of the career center, says.  “The Spring Career Fair is just one of the ways we assist students in finding full-time employment and internships.”

Holmes noted that other businesses or agencies who are interested should call the BHSU career center at 642-6277.

Representatives from companies such as Enterprise Rent-a-Car, the United States Internal Revenue Service, Black Hills National Forest, and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network are looking for BHSU students and Spearfish community members to fill a variety of positions.

The career fair is open to the public at no cost. For more information, contact Eileen Thomas at the BHSU Career Center at 642-6277 or EileenThomas@bhsu.edu.

The BHSU Career Center will host their annual Black Hills Teacher Job Fair April 20 from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
