|Black Hills State University students take part in the fifth annual Make a Difference Day.
Black Hills State University students once again showed up in force to complete community service projects during the annual “Make a Difference Day” effort. BHSU had 180 volunteers working on 15 different projects within the community for the fifth annual Make a Difference Day.
About a dozen student organizations, as well as classes and individuals, worked together for a combined total of nearly 500 volunteer hours worked.
Projects included food supply drives for the food pantry and Artemis House, projects at the Western Hills Humane Society, and the Spirit of the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. The volunteers also took part in several outdoor cleanup projects.
According to Richard Raridon, BHSU community service coordinator the volunteers felt that it is a very positive experience and many plan on continuing to volunteer.
