BHSU basketball coaches participate in Coaches vs. Cancer

Paul Sather, BHSU men’s basketball coach, (left) and Mark Nore, BHSU women’s basketball  coach, (right) present a check to George Larson, American Cancer Society representative (center), following their participation in the national Coaches vs. Cancer at a Yellow Jackets home game last season.  The first year the two coached raised $266 and they hope to see that amount increase as the community becomes aware of Coaches vs. Cancer program and join the effort.  Plans are being made for special Coaches vs. Cancer activities at a home basketball game again this season.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a program founded by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.  It empowers schools and communities to join the fight against cancer through basketball coaches leading fundraising and advocacy efforts that provide individuals a chance to give something back by rallying around an important cause.
