A candidates’ forum will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. in the Jacket Legacy Room in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union on the campus of Black Hills State University.

All Legislative candidates for District 31 will be available to discuss issues and answer questions. Candidates for the Senate are Nyla Griffith, Democrat; and Thomas R. Nelson, Republican. Candidates for the House  are Kevin W. O’Dea, Democrat; Charles M Turbiville, Republican (Incumbent); and Fred W. Romkema, Republican.

The candidates’ forum is held to afford the public the opportunity to hear from local legislative candidates before the general election. Following the opening remarks by each candidate, the public will have the opportunity to ask questions. Area residents are encouraged to attend.

This event is sponsored by the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and the Black Hills Association of Realtors.
