BHSU rodeo team moves up in rankings

The Black Hills State University rodeo team has had a great season so far and moved up to second place overall in the Great Plains Region after three rodeos.

 In the overall team standings after three rodeos, both the men’s and women’s teams are in second place, behind Dickinson State University.

 BHSU students in the standings include: saddle bronc riding-Tyler Manke, first place, and Charles Schmidt, second place; bareback riding-Jakob Smith, third place; bull riding-Dustin Brink, fifth place; tie down roping-Paul Painter, ninth place, Tye Hale, thirteenth place, and Taylor Williams, fifteenth place; steer wrestling-Paul Painter, fifth place, and Kyle Albers, eighth place; team roping header-Paul Painter, fifteenth place; team roping heeler-Taylor Williams, second place, Zachary Robinson, eleventh place and Marvin Heesacker, fifteenth place; barrel racing-Amy Holmes, seventh place, Krystal Marone, eighth place, and Cheryl Cowan, eleventh place; breakaway roping-Lexy Smith, third place, Amy Holmes, fifth place, AnnaMae Lang, seventh place, and Krystal Marone, eighth place; goat tying-Krystal Marone, sixth place, Mica Wade, tenth place, and Annie Goetschel, twelfth place.

The next rodeo will be Oct.17-18 at North Dakota State University.
