Students, faculty, and staff invited to go rock climbing and hiking in the hills

Black Hills State University will hold a rock climbing and hiking event at Sylvan Lake Sunday, Oct. 5.

Participants will meet at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 in the cul-de-sac in front of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union and return by 4:30 p.m. later that day.  Registration is required, and there will be a mandatory pre-meeting Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 7-9 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center Field House.

The rock climbing is open to all students but the number is limited to 30; however, the hiking is open to students, staff, and faculty. No fees are required for this event, but participants should bring their own lunch.

This event is sponsored by the Student Engagement and Community Collabration (SEACC) Prevention Grant, Thomas Hall, the Collegiate Outdoor Leadership Program, and the Wellness Club to promote healthy lifestyles.
