Swarm Day Royalty announced at BHSU

Jamie Richey, senior business administration major from Wewela, was named Swarm Day Queen and Dirk Remily, senior mass communications and theatre major from Aberdeen, was  named Swarm Day King last night at Black Hills State University. This year is the Quasquicentennial anniversary at BHSU. This year’s homecoming theme aptly titled “Honoring our Past …Celebrating our Future,” brings notice to this significant anniversary.
Dirk Remily, senior mass communications and theatre major from Aberdeen, and Jamie Richey, senior business administration major from Wewela, were named Swarm Day royalty at Black Hills State University last night.

Remily is actively involved with the student-run television and radio station at BHSU. He has created a popular original comedy for KBHU-TV, “The Dirk Show,” about what happens in his life.
Richey plans to pursue a production or research position in an advertising agency when she graduates. As a part of her course work, Richey has had the opportunity to create business plans for local businesses, and last summer, she participated in an internship in London, England.

This year is the Quasquicentennial anniversary at BHSU. This year’s homecoming theme aptly titled “Honoring our Past …Celebrating our Future,” brings notice to this significant anniversary. Swarm Week events continue through Sunday, Sept. 21. For additional information regarding Swarm Day call the Student Union Information Center at 642-6062.
