BHSU hosts distinctive Swarm Week events in celebration of Quasquicentennial

This year, as a part of its annual Swarm Week celebration, Black Hills State University will host several special events to “honor the past and celebrate the future” as the University commemorates its Quasquicentennial (125th anniversary).

Swarm Week begins Monday, Sept. 15 and concludes Saturday, Sept. 20 with special performances by BHSU alumni Kory and the Fireflies, Williams and Ree, and Brock Finn in addition to the annual parade and football game.

"We are making plans for a tremendous Swarm Day celebration in honor of our Quasquicentennial. We welcome community members and BHSU alumni from all over to join us as we celebrate our 125th anniversary and recognize the exceptional students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who have helped transform the lives of thousands throughout the state, region, country, and world," BHSU President Kay Schallenkamp says.

Homecoming week highlights include a Kiddie Carnival Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Marketplace; Coronation and Homecoming Dance Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Union Jacket Legacy Room; 125 Accomplished Alumni Luncheon Friday, Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the Donald E.
