Swarm Day candidates announced at BHSU

The 2008 Swarm Day king and queen candidates have been named at Black Hills State University.

The homecoming celebration will begin Monday, Sept. 15 with activities daily for students. Coronation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jacket Legacy room inside the Student Union.  Various programs at BHSU are sponsoring exciting events throughout the week ultimately concluding on Saturday Sept. 20 at Lyle Hare Stadium where this year’s Swarm Day game will take place.  This year is the Quasquicentennial anniversary at BHSU. This year’s homecoming theme aptly titled “Honoring our Past Celebrating our Future” brings notice to this significant anniversary.

The homecoming king candidates are Jim Stith, a senior history education major from Newcastle, Wyo.; Peter  Lemke, a senior mathematics major from Sturgis; Ross Pederson, a senior accounting major from Asheville, N.C.; Cody Rhoden, a senior business administration major from Union Center; and Dirk Remily, a senior mass communications and theatre major from Aberdeen.

This year’s candidates for the title of queen are Jill Kary, a senior business management and tourism and hospitality major from Powell, Wyo.; Renee Kummer, a senior biology major from Parkston; Jamie Richey, a senior business administration major from Wewela; Kristal Running Wolf, a senior environmental physical science major from Spearfish; and Kelsey Snyder, a senior mass communications major from Kimball, Neb.
