CSA employees honored

The first annual Good Mike award was presented to Mike Jastorff and Pam McKie from the BHSU Bookstore for their generous support of the CSA Council and its activities.   

Penney Williams, Health Services was recognized for her 15 years with BHSU.

The Career Service Act (CSA) Advisory Council at Black Hills State University held the 23rd annual recognition luncheon this spring to honor CSA employees for their service at BHSU.

The CSA outstanding employees for the fall and spring semesters were also honored, and the annual CSA scholarship winner was announced. Nancy Shuck, president of the CSA council emceed the event. This year’s luncheon honored 18 employees with 175 years of experience among them.

Honored for 30 years of service were: Daniel Adams, Facilities Services; and Hanna Swarts, University Mail Services.

Recognized for 20 years of service at BHSU was: Jan Bettelyoun, Facility Services.

Honored for her 15 years of service at BHSU was: Penney Williams, Health Services.

Recognized for ten years of service at BHSU were: Rod Bartholomew, Computer Center; Bill Baker, Computer Center; Jeanne Hanson, Facilities Services; Candy Huuddleston, Facilities Services; Mike Tiffany, Facility Services; and Ginny Sunding, Academic Affairs.

The following employees were honored for their five years of service to BHSU. Debbie Balding, business office; Dianne Darling, University Support Services; Brian Ewald, Technology Support Services; Kristen Kilmer, Marketing and Communications; and Debbie Powell, University Printing Center.

Barb Ridgeway, Center for Academic Success, is this year’s outstanding employee for fall 2007 and Ginny Sunding, Academic Affairs is the CSA outstanding employee for spring 2008.

Every year a CSA scholarship is given to a non-traditional student, who is 23 or older and maintains a grade point average of at least 3.0 - 3.2. This year’s scholarship was awarded to Judy Martens, a senior education major from Spearfish.

This year the CSA Council presented two more awards that will hopefully become annual awards for individuals who support the Council and the CSA employees it represents. This year the awards were referred to as the “Good Mike” awards and were presented to Mike Jastorff and Pam McKie from the BHSU Bookstore for their generous support of the CSA Council and its activities.
