Romkema elected as governor for Zonta International

Dr. Priscilla Romkema, dean of the College of Business and Technology, who is a member of the Zonta Club of Spearfish, has been elected to serve as the District 12 Governor for Zonta International for the 2008-2010 biennium. District 12 includes western South Dakota, Wyoming, eastern Montana, and Colorado.  The 32 members elected as governors are chosen from all over the world will be inaugurated at the Zonta International Convention in Rotterdam this summer for the 2008-2010 biennium.

Romkema has been a member of the Spearfish chapter of the Zonta Club for 10 years and served as president of the Spearfish Club from 2000-2001. Romkema has also served various roles on the District 12 Board for the past six years.

Zonta International was founded in Buffalo, New York in 1919. The organization’s mission is to improve the legal, political, economic, health, educational and professional status of women through service and advocacy; as well as work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions.
