Black Hills State University has had an enrollment increase of over 8 percent in the last two years (fall 2009 to fall 2011) despite a decline this fall compared to last fall. Total enrollment for BHSU this fall is 4,415.

The Black Hills State University School of Business will host an accounting career fair in conjunction with the S.D. CPA Society Accounting Showcase Monday, Oct. 3 in the David B. Miller Student Union, Jacket Legacy Room. The Accounting Showcase will be from 12-1 p.m. and the Accounting Career Fair from 1 – 2 p.m., with a combined networking time from 1-1:30 p.m.

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), will host the Second Annual “From High Heels to High Places Conference” in Rapid City Oct 26. The conference will be held at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30 a.m. Black Hills State University School of Business is hosting the keynote presenter, Kathrine Switzer, who will begin the conference with “Going the Distance in Business & Life”.

Sept. 26 through Oct. 2 is photography week in South Dakota as proclaimed by Governor Dennis Daugaard. It's also photography week at Black Hills State University with several exhibitions across campus, a video presentation on Wednesday night, equipment demonstrations by the MAC Group on Friday, and the Black Hills Photo Shootout Friday through Sunday.
