Black Hills State received a gift of $3,000 in memory of former Spearfish resident and track and field standout, Mark Larscheid.
The family, led by Mark’s widow Mary Larscheid-Christensen, has organized the Annual Mark Larscheid Memorial Golf Tournament for the last eight years in an effort to celebrate Mark’s life and preserve his memory.  The proceeds went to benefit the Black Hills State track and field program in the form of the Mark Larscheid Memorial Track and Field Scholarship.

In conjunction with the yearlong Quasquicentennial celebration at Black Hills State University, the musical comedy duo of Williams and Ree returns to their alma mater in a special performance Saturday, Sept. 20.  The concert will take place in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center Gymnasium at 7 p.m.

In conjunction with the yearlong Quasquicentennial celebration at Black Hills State University, the University will be honoring “125 Accomplished Alumni” during a luncheon Friday, Sept. 19th, in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center Gymnasium.  The luncheon and program will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Black Hills State University associate professor of English, David Cremean recently worked for the national entity Educational Testing Services (ETS) on assessment matters.  The job involved scoring essays for ETS's advanced placement exams in the English language in Daytona, Florida.
