Black Hills State University will host a community Lecture and Lunch Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the Jacket Legacy Room in the Student Union. Dr. John Alsup, education professor of education, will speak on “Teaching Math in Rural Tanzania.”
Black Hills State University Chamber Singers will present a holiday favorite, the annual Madrigal Dinner, Dec. 16, 17, 18, and 19 in Clare and Josef Meier Hall on the BHSU campus.
Audiences will be treated to a full evening of food, music, and theatrical entertainment during the annual fund-raising event for the BHSU music department.
Black Hills State University is a founding member of a new debate organization which started this semester, the Black Hills Collegiate Debate Union. This group is comprised of students from BHSU, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, and National American University. The organization hopes to add students from Western Dakota Tech and Oglala Lakota College in the near future. The group will be holding its second official union debate on the BHSU campus Tuesday, Nov. 16 in the Jacket Legacy Room at 6 p.m.

Black Hills State University is sponsoring the 10th Annual Red Shirt Cultural Holiday Exchange, which includes a collection of toys and funds along with at visit by BHSU students to the Red Shirt School. The event, which began as two-student project in 2000, has grown into a campus-wide event with participation numerous organizations.
