Black Hills State University has been authorized by the Board of Regents to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in applied management in Rapid City. This innovative master’s degree, which will build on the thriving business program offered at BHSU, will target mid- to upper-level business professionals.

Black Hills State University announces Dean’s List

The academic affairs office at Black Hills State University has released the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester. A total of 540 students were named to the dean’s list. Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the dean’s list. Students are listed by hometown or current place of residence.

Covey, who served as assistant track and field coach this year, takes over for Scott Walkinshaw who recently stepped down as head coach of track and field but will continue to serve as head coach of the cross country program.

BHSU plans Earth Week celebration

Black Hills State University will host a week-long celebration
April 20 – 24 in honor of Earth Week 2009. Presentations on environmental issues, an acoustic concert, and a park clean-up in collaboration with city of Spearfish are just a few of the events planned to show the University’s commitment to sustainability.

Dakota Chamber Orchestra and BHSU Chamber Singers will perform together

The Dakota Chamber Orchestra and the BHSU Chamber Singers present the will Faure Requiem. The concert will be held at the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall, April 19 at 2:30 p.m.

BHSU presents comedic theatre performance

The Black Hills State University Theatre will present Leading Ladies, a comedy written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Albert Juhrend, assistant professor of theatre at BHSU. The performance will take place April 16 -18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Woodburn Hall theatre.

First home softball games of the season are this weekend

After several delays due to snow, the Black Hills State University softball team will have their first home games Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Monday, April 20 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. against Mayville State University.

Governor signs bill authorizing Higher Education Center in Rapid City

Gov. Mike Rounds was joined by representatives of the South Dakota Board of Regents and Rapid City area supporters to commemorate the signing of House Bill 1183. The bill authorized construction of a permanent Higher Education Center-West River to meet the region’s current and future higher education needs.
