Many students work part-time during college, but few turn their part-time jobs into research experiments. One such study by a student-faculty duo at BHSU was recently published in the North American Journal of Psychology.
Business students at Black Hills State University are responding to an increase this year in the number of people utilizing their free tax assistance services. BHSU partners with the IRS through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to offer free tax help. The BHSU students gain valuable experience that often influences their choice of career.

The Speech and Debate team at BHSU recently returned from a national tournament in Athens, Ohio, with an unexpected trophy. Brittany Thompson, sophomore political science and psychology major from Spearfish, placed in the top 20 at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament during her first time competing in the individual debate category.
