Join us Tuesday, August 6th at the Black Hills State University Young Center Fieldhouse in Spearfish, SD for the first King of the Hills Strongman Contest. Weigh-in / Registration runs from noon to 1:15 p.m. The Strongman Contest begins at 1:30 p.m. There will be a free lunch and live music from noon to 1:00 p.m.
The five-event Strongman Contest will have two weight classes of 199 lbs or less and 200 lbs or more. All participants must compete dressed as is off their bikes.
“Hauling the Honey" - The event is a rope pull, the participant must pull a motorcycle trailer with a motorcycle on it, while a female ( the honey ) is seated on the motorcycle. The trailer would travel 10 yards and it would be a timed event. Points to top 5 places.
“Burning Rubber" – the event is tire lifting, the participant must lift and place 6 tires onto the center of a stationary pole, stacking one tire on top of the other until all six are stacked on the pole. It would be a timed event .Points to top 5 places.
“Heavy Metal" – the event is a bike frame press. A motorcycle bike frame will be placed inside a power rack at the shoulder height of the participant while seated. The individual will then shoulder press the frame overhead. The event is based on the successful reps completed. Points to top 5 places.
“Curling Brewski’s" – the event is a bicep bar curl . 2 kegs will be placed at the end of a straight bar. The participant will then bicep curl the bar and with the kegs attached. The event is based on the successful amount of curls the participant completes. Points to top 5 places.
“Hands of Steel" - the event is a grip contest . The participant must lift a motor cycle motor , one motor in each hand and hold the motors off the ground an grip the motors for as long as possible. The event is timed . Points to top 5 places.
