The Newman Club and a variety of sponsors throughout the Northern Black Hills, Immaculee Ilibagiza, a survivor of the Rwandan Genocide, has been engaged to speak at the Young Center on Sept 10, at 7 p.m.
Imaculee, along with seven other women, managed to escape the brutal murders in her country by hiding in a small bathroom for the duration of the conflict. While a Christian, Imaculee's message is explicitly non-sectarian. Her story touches upon the history of that terrible time, tolerance, respect, forgiveness, and hope.
