Summer Stage announces the 2018 Season

Romance is in the air as Summer Stage at Black Hills State University presents a season of love.
 
The South Dakota premier of “Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses” opens the season on June 7. See this romantic comedy and find out if true love can be found at Lovers’ Landing Beach Hotel.
 
“Perfect wedding,” a riotous English farce and touching love story, opens June 14. Chaos and laughter ensue as tangled relationships unwind just before tying the knot. 
 
Rounding out the season of love is the musical comedy “Crazy For You,” featuring the Gershwin’s standards  “Embraceable You,” “I Got Rhythm” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It.” “Crazy For You” opens on June 21 and runs two weekends.
 
All performances are in the Woodburn Black Box theatre at BHSU.
 
“Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses” performs June 7, 8 & 9 at 7:30 p.m. and June 10 at 2:30 p.m.
 
“Perfect Wedding” performs June 14, 15, 16 at & 7:30 p.m. and June 17 at 2:30 p.m.
 
“Crazy For You” performs June 21, 22, 23 and June 28, 29, 30 at 7:30 p.m. and June 24, July 1 at 2:30 p.m.

BHSU faculty to inspire students and community with personal artwork

Art students often want to know more about faculty member’s own personal work outside of the classroom; this is their chance. Black Hills State University fine arts faculty will present “Beyond the Classroom” Thursday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall Room 110. At no cost to the public, this event is open to the community as an ongoing continuation of the Geek Speak lecture series.

Kelly Kirk and Carrie Gray-Wood, instructors at Black Hills State University, will lecture on “A Taste of Place: The History and Geography of Food in Italy” Thursday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall Room 110. As part of the Geek Speak lecture series, the presentation is free and open to the public.

BHSU part of National Solar Tour with Solar Open House October 6

Have you ever considered installing solar panels on your home, cabin, or business? Black Hills State University staff will share insights from a recent on-campus solar installation during a Solar Open House to be held Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in front of Bordeaux Residence Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
