Black Hills State University was recently certified as a Bee Campus USA in commitment to creating sustainable habitats for pollinators. BHSU joins more than 150 Bee Cities and Bee Campuses across the country.
Fourteen descendants of Maude (Campbell) Dana, Class of 1917, were honored this spring as the 2019 Black Hills State University Legacy Family. Grandma Dana, as Maude is fondly remembered by her loved ones, was known for inspiring and encouraging her family’s education. The Dana family is known for their strong support and care of the community through their success in the fields of dentistry, orthodontia, and financial management.
Black Hills State University has released the Dean’s List for the spring 2019 semester. A total of 714 full-time students and 158 part-time students maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher. Students are listed by hometown or current place of residence. Students that achieved a 4.0 GPA are recognized with an asterisk (*).
Plans to renovate the E.Y. Berry Library-Learning Center at Black Hills State University are moving forward with the first donation from a local corporation. Black Hills Energy presented a $25,000 check to BHSU earlier this month.
Youssef, an international student at Black Hills State University from Tunisia, placed in the national debate tournament in Shreveport, La., this spring, continuing a five-year streak of BHSU national debate success.
