Capstone projects completed by Black Hills State University Honors students this fall will be presented and defended Thursday, Nov. 29. Two Honors students are prepared to share findings from their personal research projects conducted under mentorship of a capstone committee of BHSU faculty.

students at Black Hills State University are using concepts learned in their classes to help the community by working with local businesses.
The online master’s degree in secondary education at Black Hills State University was recently ranked second in affordability among all programs of its kind nationwide by Grad School Hub. In a separate ranking, the BHSU online master of education in reading was ranked in the top 10 for affordability in the U.S., also by Grad School Hub. BHSU was the only South Dakota college included on this lists.
The Black Hills Food Hub, run by Black Hills State University, had a successful summer and is making plans to continue deliveries throughout the winter season. Food Hub coordinator for BHSU Jessica Stori remarks on future plans and the overall success of the program thus far, including internship opportunities for BHSU students.
Black Hills State University was recently awarded the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Award. To commemorate the award, BHSU students where challenged to capture campus beauty in a photo contest.
