The Collegiate Outdoor Leadership Program (COLP) and SD Game, Fish, and Parks are partnering on an ice fishing program on Sunday, February 25th. Two vans have been reserved. Meet at the Young Center cul-de-sac at 8:00 am. One van will return by 2:00; the other by 5:30.
WHAT TO BRING:
Each participant needs to purchase a fishing license ahead of time to participate (either a day pass or yearly). Those can be purchased online at https://gfp.sd.gov/hunt-fish-license/
. If you are not a SD resident, you can get in-state rates if you go to Walmart and show your BHSU ID. You also need to bring warm clothes,
at least 1 liter of water,
and a sack lunch
(hopefully, we will eat fish, but you never know).
All gear will be provided.
At the program, Keith Wintersteen, program specialist with SD Game, Fish, and Parks, will give tips on Catching, Cleaning, Cooking, & Consuming, and participants will get to do all four things (that is, if the fish cooperate!).
