Early Bird deadline approaching for Women's Business Conference

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University will host the seventh annual Women's Business Conference Friday, October 21st.  The conference will be held at The Lodge at Deadwood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early Bird registration for this signature event ends Saturday, October 8th and is $125.

This year's conference features keynote speaker Maria Higgins, People Development Expert and founder of Clear Steps Group, Inc. Through her company, Higgins develops training programs, seminars, and self-help products to continue to develop people. Higgins' topics will include "The Transition Train" which will explore the many transitions we go through in our careers and "Managing Multiple Generations in the Workplace" which will cover how different generations operate in the workplace and how they can be brought together.

A new feature at this year's conference, "Entrepreneurial Spirit!", features six South Dakota business participants who will share their story. Dr. Helen Usera, owner and president of Aspiring Business Consulting will be the moderator. Dr. Usera will also provide the closing presentation for the conference entitled "Lead On".

The conference will also highlight graduates of the SD CEO's Women in Leadership program. "I was uniquely empowered from each session, and made long lasting friendships with many of my classmates." said Samantha Schmeltzer, owner of The Own and a 2015 graduate of the Women in Leadership program.
