Businesses to congratulate Yellow Jackets on first-ever NCAA tournament bid

Black Hills State University invites area businesses and organizations to congratulate the Yellow Jackets women's basketball team on their first-ever NCAA Division II tournament bid by participating in a community video.

Groups are invited to record a seven second-or-less video or submit a photo. The images will be compiled and broadcast on social media to in advance of Thursday's game to show support for the Yellow Jackets in this historic moment.

Staff from the BHSU Marketing & Communications office will be available to visit Spearfish businesses and organizations Wednesday, March 9 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. to record the videos. Email Adam.Roosa@BHSU.edu by 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 to indicate your business wants to participate. You will receive an email back confirming the time BHSU will visit your business for the recording.

Organizations and individuals are also invited to the Jacket Zone in downtown Spearfish (617 Main Street) Wednesday, March 9, 12 p.m.-12:30 p.m. where a community greeting will be recorded for the video.

Supporters can submit a seven second-or-less video or photo directly to BHSU to be included in the compilation. Email your video or photo to Adam.Roosa@BHSU.edu by 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 to be included.

Beginning Wednesday, BHSU invites the community to visit the Jacket Zone stores in downtown Spearfish and at the Donald E. Young Center to sign a giant card wishing the Yellow Jackets good luck at the game.

The BHSU women's basketball team earned the No. 7 seed in the South Central Region and will play fellow Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Colorado State-Pueblo on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. MST/2:30 p.m. CT.
