Adobe Photoshop basics training to be held at BHSU-RC

Gina Gibson will present Adobe Photoshop Basics, a hands-on workshop at BHSU-RC.

A hands-on workshop, "Adobe Photoshop Basics," will be held at Black Hills State University-Rapid City, on Monday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mac lab, room 103.

The SD Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), located on the campus of BHSU has partnered with the BHSU mass communications program to bring this day-long workshop to BHSU-RC. Black Hills Energy is the premier co-sponsor of this workshop.

Adobe Photoshop is a great way for you to edit your graphics for print and digital media with its easy to use picture editing options, according to Gina Gibson, BHSU associate professor of digital media and workshop instructor. During this interactive workshop participants will review the fundamentals of design and layout, discover how to open and save documents, basic photo editing techniques, how to work with layers and more.     

Gibson is the chair for the School of Arts & Humanities and associate professor of digital communication at BHSU. She is an exhibiting artist and lecturer and her work has been seen at the Cynthia Broan Gallery in New York City and the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan. Gibson received her bachelor degree in studio art at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and her MFA in studio art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
