In just a few weeks, students will return to Black Hills State University, and BHSU encourages local businesses and organizations to help welcome students back on campus at the annual Community Campus Fair.

The Community Campus Fair is Sunday, Aug. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports &amp Fitness Center Field House. Local businesses, community organizations and BHSU student organizations can register for a booth at the fair. Registration is free and can be done online at www.BHSU.edu/CampusKickoff. The registration deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Jessica Gramm, student engagement and programming intern and business administration-tourism major from Burlington, Colo., said she is excited for the annual fair, which provides an excellent opportunity for new students to learn about BHSU and Spearfish.

"It&rsquos a great way for BHSU and Spearfish to come together and welcome students," Gramm said.

"We&rsquore really excited about it and want to show how well the University and community work together."

Set up will begin at 4 p.m. A table and two chairs will be provided at each booth. Any additional needs can be specified on the registration form.

Gramm encourages businesses to provide give-a-way items, coupons or samples to create interest and generate promotion at their booths.

In addition to the fair, A&rsquoviands will cater a community BBQ. All BHSU students, faculty, staff and the community are invited. Tickets are $7 per person. BHSU students, faculty and staff will receive free tickets.

Student move-in day is Saturday, Aug. 22 with classes beginning Monday, Aug. 24. The Community Campus Fair is part of Green and Gold Days, a two-week event that offers activities each day for new and returning students to get to know the campus, fellow students and the Spearfish community.
