BHSU students earn scholarship and win AAF-BH design jam

           Black Hills State University student Orlando Munoz, graphic design communication major from Rapid City, was the recipient of the $1,000 Jackalope Student Scholarship from the American Advertising Federation-Black Hills (AAF-BH).

            

       

   



Black Hills State University Student Orlando Munoz, graphic design communication major from Rapid City, was the recipient of the $1,000 Jackalope Student Scholarship from the American Advertising Federation-Black Hills (AAF-BH).

Munoz is currently interning at PROJEX Branding &amp Development as a graphic designer. While at BHSU he has competed in the AAF National Student Advertising Competition and has placed in the AAF-BH Advertising Awards, held annually.

The AAF-BH also hosted a design jam recently, which brought together local graphic designers and artists in the Black Hills community. Participants competed to see who could develop the most creative design for an assigned product in 10 minutes.

BHSU alum Makena Peet placed first in the event. Peet is the creative developer for Firehouse Brewing Company and several other major Rapid City dining establishments. While a student at BHSU, she was a 2014 National Silver American Advertising Award winner.

Munoz also competed in the contest.
