BHSU-Rapid City to announce new programs at Open House

           Black Hills State University&ndashRapid City will officially dedicate the facility&rsquos new name and announce new programs during an Open House July 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard in Rapid City. The event is free and open to the public.

       

       

            

       

       

           New programs for adult learners will be announced at the Black Hills State University-Rapid City Open House and dedication July 21 from 5:30-7 p.m. at 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard in Rapid City. The event is free and open to the public.

       

   



Black Hills State University-Rapid City (BHSU-RC) will hold an Open House Tuesday, July 21 to announce new academic programs for the Rapid City-based public higher education center formally known as the University Center &ndash Rapid City.  

The Open House runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at BHSU-RC at 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard in Rapid City. BHSU President Tom Jackson, Jr. provide a welcome followed by remarks from Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender, Gene Bilodeau, executive director of BHSU-RC Kathryn Johnson, member of the South Dakota Board of Regents and Andrew Lowe, a BHSU student and member of the South Dakota National Guard who takes classes at BHSU-RC.

Refreshments will be served following the official dedication of the facility&rsquos new name. Community members are invited to visit information tables showcasing the new BHSU-RC programs.

The change benefits individuals in the area by offering the opportunity to attend a master&rsquos granting university in Rapid City. BHSU-RC, the only comprehensive university west of river in South Dakota, provides additional, affordable and accessible higher education opportunities while continuing to collaborate and offer programs from several universities throughout the state. This semester more than 161 BHSU courses are being offered.
