Black Hills State University mascot, Sting, visited the Grace Balloch Memorial Library in Spearfish, during the library&rsquos Community Hero Appreciation Night.

Sting and Veena Chintaginjala, student intern with the University and Community Relations office at BHSU, visited with attendees.

It was noted that BHSU considers their graduates the real community heroes.

"Our heroes are the BHSU graduates because they are out in the community doing amazing things. You&rsquoll see BHSU grads everywhere," Corinne Hansen, director of University and Community Relations, said. "BHSU grads are dentists, doctors, news reporters, historians, research scientists, business people, military personnel, teachers and many other professions. BHSU graduates are making a positive difference throughout the region, state, nation and world."

The event was part of the library&rsquos summer reading program, Every Hero has a Story.
